I have so many memories of Reid when we were little, it’s hard to sort them out and pick just one. When I think about my time with Reid, the one word that comes to my mind time and time again is “rascal”! He had a rascal laugh and a rascal grin. But that’s what made him so charming, fun and witty! As smart as he was, and as hard-working as he was, I feel like Reid always made time for FUN. And I could always count on him to bring some laughter.

Reid and I were close when we were really young, being born just 2 months apart. I always had a playmate when visiting his family, and of course one of our favorite things to do was make trouble to his little bro Chad! One time we had a sleepover, and Chad started singing “Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls” in his sleep. Oh man, Reid would NOT let him get away with this one for sure! Soon, poor sleeping Chad had the words “waterfall” written all over him. And all I remember is Reid just getting an absolute kick over the whole thing!
In fact, Reid was so rascal that we suspect he carried this trait with him in the afterlife. The week of his funeral, both my sister and I had our smoke alarms trip in the middle of the night, waking us up and wondering what the heck was going on. Totally separate houses, in fact on separate islands! And we didn’t know this happened to each other until we shared our stories. We figured it must be Reid playing some tricks on us…that guy, I tell you. Well if it means a visit from Reid, I’ll gladly wake up to my smoke alarm tripping.
